does this fish get aggressive? apparently they do when they get older but i just wanted to make sure x

Ive heard that they eat the small pest snails. Is this true?

well i have heard that they do get aggressive, which is why i bought botia striata (zebra loach) which have cleaned my tank of literally 100's of snails.

mixed opion here, some say yes, some say no.

I have two 8cm long yo yo loaches and they rule the bottom of my tank. They're not aggressive as such but are very active, so they're constantly coming across other fish in my tank and giving them an inquisitive feel. THe tankmates just swim off and chill elsewhere in the tank. I'm currently housing them with some otto's and a pair of apistogramma.

If however there are injured or weaker fish in the tank I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate in havine they're tankmates for dinner.

what fish would you like to keep them with?

At the moment, guppies, female fighter, american flag fish. I mainly just want them to clean up my snail problem. I think i may just go the slow method of removing the snails by hand.

Edit: I just bought 2 YoYos for $10 and they are quite small which is good. Next yr i will have a 3-4ft tank and they will be the bottom dwellers in that.

HIJACK HIJACK HIJACK lol

im wanting to keep mine with clown loaches, the lfs guy said the yoyo's aren't as friendly as the clowns, a shoal of angels, weather loaches, otos, corys, whiteclouds, hillstream loaches, n thats all i rechon lol. i do have sand but aren't keen on this fish if its gonna be agressive. its taken ages to find the right tempered fish to go together and be totally community and i like it x x
