Do you guys have pictures of your very first tank? I was browsing thru my old pics and found mine and thought it would be interesting to see all of your beginners tanks...Please post.

Edit: I dont have this tank up and running anymore.

This is my 20 gallon tank that housed 8 guppies and an apple snail at first. It is now a tetra/cory tank.

While looking for an old pic of my tank I found a pic of the fetal kitten in a jar that I got from my high school anatomy class . My photo album is full of interesting things.

This is the oldest pic I could find, though there was a time when this tank had white gravel:

things have moved on a wee bit since then

actually jimbooo, your first tanks were looking rather good for a newbie. especially the 180. I think my first tank looked worse than your 60. But only cos I had some crap unnatural rocks. I'll try and get some pics up. It makes me laugh cos I was so proud of it.

My first effort.

Beleive it or not it won "Tank of the Month" back in Aug 2003.

No CO2, plain gravel substrate and standard Juwel lighting with no reflectors.

I have the same tank - just a little more high-tech now.

I have pics of my first tank setup on my old computer which I can drag out some time. There are pics on here but for some reason the pics have been deleted from my posts :S

Basically my first tank had natural gravel, some sword plants, some wisteria, a ceramic log, a ceramic tree stump, tubes for the UGF, a skeleton riding a motorbike, a ceramic car...and pathetic lights. I went to the LFS to buy plants and they asked if I had high light, and I replied "My tank is really bright, yeah" And they sold me high light plants which died after 2-3 weeks :p I remember coming on here or chat asking why my plants were dying....I was told I needed fertiliser...I thought that was too much hassle so I dumped the plants for all plastic plants.

And back in those days I had 20 watts of lighting over a 30gal tank:lol: I had the lights on from 7am to 10pm.....Imagine the algae I had!!!!

Actually, I found the link for my first tank here
It also contains a pic of my tank after taking out all the plants

My first tank was way back in the early 80's so no pics. I was 14 and didnt know anything about fish.
It was a plastic 4 gallon and to my shame housed a goldfish :*)

That makes 2 of us on the "housing goldfish in aquaria too small" front.

That was in february this year. I've now got 4 goldies in a 45 gallon. I'd want to get them in a pond though really...

I've also (as of last weekend) got a juwel rekord 60 with 4 lamprologus multifasciatus. Amazing fish.

10 Gallon. Started out non-planted, and now has 2 thriving crypts and the rest are plastic. In the photo is houses 6 of my tiger barbs. Their number has increased to 8 and they are now in my 40G tall. This 10G now has 4 Rummynose tetras and a male Bolivian Ram.
