Your Rarest Fish

The rarest fish ive owned are the few Polynemus threadfins ive owned, unfortunately they are almost impossible to keep alive and theyve all died within a few weeks of purchase though for some stupid reason i will probably try them again one day.

The rarest fish i own which are still alive are a male/female pair of Hemibagrus punctatus, a very rarely imported catfish from southern India which even rarely still will cohabitate in pairs.

My rarests fish... well it isn't a fish, all my fish are common where I live... Does a bullfrog count?

An Albino Blackmoor goldfish. I originally had two, but one had a bad immune system and only lasted a few months. The other I've had for over a year now. She's gone completely blind--not an uncommon occurance in telescope-eyed goldies--and only has one eye (the latter of which has no impact because of the former.)

Note: she's not a Siamese Doll, though that would be pretty nifty, too. :)

Definitely my 3 Vaillantella Maassi - which I'm super happy to say are all still very alive and doing swimmingly (fat little piggies they are!) after 7 months of getting them. It's always a risk buying a new fish not kept before and not knowing their particular requirements - just throwing them into the community and hoping for the best. But I'm well chuffed they're doing so well and becoming ever so slightly less shy.

i guess mine is my red tailed catfish , he might not be rare but in my house of piranha he is lol

Me thinks I want some of them... I smell a nice sized Asian themed tank coming into play... :shifty:

As for rarities... I just put an ornate bichir on hold... I don't know how rare they are... but nonetheless, I've only seen senegals for sale around me...

i'd have to say my rhino-fish. these things aren't easy to come by.

my sea monkey

I guess it would be my bristlenose pleco, simply because my other fish are really really common.

Hes probably not a 'normal' BN pleco, but I don't know what exact variety he is.

Hm, perhaps I shall go post my new pictures of him and see what exact type he is...

I dont have any really rare fish. I have afew gudgeon in my coldwater set-up a very common british fish but rare in aquariums i think.

Have 2 baby Eclipce catfish but thinking of buying a afew 2 spot catfish that ive seen in a lfs. No-one seems to no what they are and there are only about 3 web pages on the internet on them so i think there pretty rare.
