It looks very nice, that gravel is actually nicer than the sand (i dont often think this).
Is that a little dwarf ram i see in the middle bottom?
I love the plants, is the structure making the arch bogwood? As it looks stunning.

Thanks Luke.
The fish is a german blue ram, I have a pair. They are quite peaceful, well until she lays some eggs. But, it get the harlequins shoaling.
The arch way is one piece of wood, it goes from one end of the tank to the other.

Its well hidden in areas, do you have any pics of it out of the tank? It sure is a nice piece.

I see you have an amano shrimp in you're avatar, i'm guessing you have some in you're tank?

Here you go.

Took the picture to see how it would look in the tank. The magazines under it is the foot print of my tank.
I have 5 shrimps and plan to get a few more. They are great clean up crew, and fanicating to watch. Have oyu got any?

Mate, it looks great! perhaps one more anubias under the log arch as the one looks a bit lonely but other than that I love it. Glad to hear you added some laterite, shoudl help the plants no end.

Bet it was fun getting in there and ripping it all apart!?

Sam

Do the fish like swimming under the arch?

Thanks for posting the pic, its a nice piece mate..

Yea i have 4 amano, and 3 bamboo. I plan on stocking my planted tank with a load of amano shrimp and a shoal of cardinals.

I did enjoy it Sam(LOL), even though it was a must. I don't know if your read it, but I had a problem with the tank last friday. I'm still not sure what it was, but at least the girlfriend didn't mind me spending all day on it :hey: .
The harlequins don't, but the rest do.

A nice big shoal of fish, you can't beat it. I will be adding to my shoal of harlies soon. Even thought about finding a new home for the rams so I could have a bigger shoal. But I can't bring myself to do it :S .

I'm don't think I've been happier with my tank, so I thought I would post an update.

Looking great there mate, has filled out really nicely :D

Are you planning on having anything low growing along the front or is that the plan with the stags you've got in there?

Looking good mate, rams a top choice for a planted tank, I'd love some myself but i seam to have trouble finding good ones, they all seam to be edging to the long fined variety now.

wow great tank! the water looks pristine. What is that tallish plant almost reaching the surface on the right?
- did you ever have a mini cycle after you stripped the tank down DaveW?

simonbrown - maybe you should get bolivians.

wow i love your tank, isnt it great when you rescape the tank let everything settle and go back to it later and it just looks fantastic.

Thanks. It's filling out very nicely.

Sam, I did have some dwarf 4 leaf clover, but it grow slowly and got hit by bba. It might be down to the fact that I have only 2.2 wpg, add the fact the wood cut out a fair bit, I don't think I'll get much to grow well. So yes, that is the idea, and the sag is growing well too.

I love the rams too simon, I did try to find them a new home so I could replace them with rummy noses. But no one wanted them and I couldn't bring myself to take they to the lfs. I think I just need a bigger tank
 .

Alps, the plant your on about is the good old Hygrophila Polysperma. It's going so fast that it's high maintenance, but I just love the look of it! As for the mini cycle, I did get a little spike of nitrite for a couple of weeks, but it was to much of a problem.

It's a good feeling when you look at a old picture mike, and then you can see the progress that you have made.
