Could you all post where you found these great deals? I'd really like to know! Luck you guys. I've yet to find a deal even comparable to yours

You tend to find a lot of bargains on e-bay. We got our tank from a friend who works at our lfs, he didn't have room for it so just wanted to get rid of it.

1) 99p for a Golden tench
2) my girlfiends old 30 gallon tall with fluval 4 filter ect for building her a computer desk (4 hours work) then again she has made me buy most of the fish for her new 30 gallon long lol

I went to london, spent £150 and came back with the following, all one year old

220w arcadia luminaire
two double 55w pc ballasts
eight pc tubes
£100 worth of wood
eheim pro II filter
c02 setup
several books
filter bits and more....

then I sold my discus I bought for £70 for £300

Best deal I have ever gotten related to aquatics is one nobody else will have, as it's one of a kind.

It's my wonderful wife, who tolerates 18+ tanks, trials & tribulations of breeding and selling, auctions, me waking up at 4:30 am for auctions, brokers coming over at the drop of a hat to buy fish, numerous club related meetings and activities, tagging along with me in a beat up pickup truck through some of the nastiest areas of Chicago to get free tanks & gear, and after all this takes over the position of club secretary, a real pain in the butt position that no one wants to do, but must be done. There are probably a dozen other situations I’m forgetting; how she tolerates me I’ll never know.

Next best deal would be a 72-gallon bow front, with stand, glass top, light, and 15 plec for free.

i think your right she's one of a kind!

yeah making friends with the lfs is always a good idea for bargains, not only will you get the odd discount or free fish thrown in, but they'll know if someone's got a tank going spare etc and will let you know. that's how we got our marine tank

5ft x 2ft x 6.5 inches tank - EBAY - £8.50

2 ft x 2ft x 1ft....free...(was standing in the lfs when a guy pulled up and offered it to the shop....mr shopkeeper didn't want it ).
