One of my yo-yo loaches is getting a really fat belly and it seems to be getting bigger in the last few days. I dont know how to tell the sex of them but is it possible it is about to lay eggs? I have noticed it has been becoming increasingly territorial somewhat and hogging food from other loach. I have never had fish lay eggs so this is all new to me if it is about to lay. Any steps i should take if it does lay eggs?

I would be willing to bet it has just overeaten. Yoyo loaches have not been known to breed in the aquarium. From what I have been told they are all wild caught. Yours is most likely no exception. Clown loaches have been bred by using hormones to get them started, but I don't think anyone has tried this with yoyos yet.
Since you say he/she has been hogging food from the other one, it makes even more sense that it is just from lots of food. Loaches are known food hoggers when they are in the alpha position. If you only have two, you should try to get more, so the one who is not top fish can have a chance of being part a group rather than being just the little guy.
