Hey there I've had my yo yo loach for close to a year now and have never noticed a problem with him before but just the other day I was watching my fish and he became extremely aggressive and started to swarm all over my silver dollars and was wondering what might have caused him to start doing that? He is in a 65gal tank with 3 silver dollars, a blue gourami, 7 tiger barbs and a pleco. I haven't seen him do it again but I just wanted see if anyone know what or why he was doing it?

Being alone is part of it. Botia's should be kept in groups of 5+.

I agree, when yoyo loaches are kept on their own they have been known to show behavior out of character for their type- getting more yoyo loaches so that its in a group of 5+ should help return the loach back to normal as they are naturally sociable fish with their own kind :) .

Alright thanks. he was one of the first fish I got and have had him now for about a year and a half and hadn't seen that from him before, so I wasn't sure why, but it makes sense now that you say he should be in a group and not by himself. I'll get right on fixing that!

Sounds great!

If you have a choice, ideally get yoyo's that are slightly smaller than yours, this way he'll have company and stay the boss. But any yoyo's would do.
