I got em and they are currently being acclimatised to the aquarium. Two are about 3" and one ~2".

Mt inital thaought was that these do look a bit like younger Silver sharks (body shape), but the water had colled in transport and i know their red markings fade in water below 25c.

Definatley nice looking, hope they do get to around 6".

Lets just hope they live happily.

are they those fish that have a very bright almost fluroescent red/crimson stripe down their side with black markings as well??? and cost a bomb??? saw some in our lfs a little while ago at 25 quid a fish

yup those are the ones although £25 is a little over the top although these fish are not cheap. Usually £15-20 in lfs.

However Trimar (no surprises) are selling these for £10 each, still quite dear, I mean five times nore than a Silver shark of similar size, but probbaly the best price one could get.

I am hoping Guadzipole whats the name? will give me some tips on keeping since she? he has had them for a while :).

Looking at them now they arent as shimery silver as Silver sharks and the read lines i can seem, but I think theyll need time to settle in before they really colour up.

I know I keep comparing them with Silver sharks, but I did want those originally, but these are more colourful and will not grow bigger than 6" unlike upto 14" for Silvers.

Hope their bodies deepen out a bit more as they grow, will look even better.

If these work out I will be getting two or three more.

hi psgill,

yup I know i need to start taking pics.

Thanks for the offer for going to the big places, i cant drive yet (doh) lol

sanj im very jealous...........those fish are beautiful! oh if only we had room for another tank............sigh

Oh, are you totally positivley sure you couldnt find room for a larger aquarium??

or is there a partner constraint?

I know the feeling about wanting a bigger aquarium, but not being able to get one. This is the first time ever I have been able to do this. Its weird though, when you go bigger, they dont seem that big after a while  lol.

They are nice fish though. I read in pfk they can be kept in 36" long tanks upwards.
