Yf Can Taste The Salt..

 omg YF, stop doing that right this minute young man - if it isn't completly dissolved then put it in a container and mix it for at least twelve hours

Ok I have a new plan. Get the water put it in a bucket, mix it and heat it for a good 12 hours, then tip it in jug by jug. Saves disturbance and the salt settled etc. Seffie just out of query what damage would it do, as nothing seems fazed by it and the salt is at the right level?

YF

Salt burns/corrodes
you can never be sure if it is the right sg, as when you measure it the salt hasn't all dissolved

you have been very lucky YF :good:

Whoah. im happy then. I checked the salt once it had all dissolved and it was at 1.026 so its good. I wont do it again though. I didnt realise it was bad before it was to late.

I think I may purchase the 450, and get a firefish in there, and tons of zoas etc. So its full of corals - well not tons but you get my drift. Im still debating it though.

YF

yeah i was gunna do the same with mine but i think i may sell it now

are you moving your 550 stock over to the new tank yf and are you getting the 450

If you check my other topic "The Upgrade" I have bought a 160ltr tank which I will be transferring the stock across to from the orca to this one. Then sell the orca on.

oh il go have a look now ive been trying to shift mine with no luck and a dont think its overpriced

yeah is that the one on ebay

Bit of a dilema. Someone has offered me cash for my tank, and wants to collect it on the 18th, so im wondering what to do? Because ovbiously im geting new rock + rock in my orca for my new tank, so there will be a mini cycle, and I have hermits, fish, corals in. So im wondering whats the best way to do this? Ask them to collect it later or put the corals, fish etc. In a tub for a couple of days while my tank cycles or just put them straight in the new tank and hope the cycle isint to big?

YF

i'd consider putting them in a holding tub for a while, or ask your dad nicely to see if you can put your stuff in there temporarily if his cycle is done and dusted?
