ok i got a pair M/F an 2weeks ago the female died on me as i was trying to find out what was wrong with her. Now the male seems to have the same problem. So lets get rid of bad water condistions, Ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 3 PH 7.2 KH 4 hardness 3 2Pwc's weekly 1 full gravel clean. Ok, so this fish is like having problems swimming, looks like from his dorsel fin back, has lost motor control. He looks humped over an almost in a vertical position from the dorsel back, an seems not to be able to use his tail while swimming. The female had the same symtoms, an i could not find anything to compair with for treatment. Closest thing i seen was swim bladder or dropsy, but all the symtoms or not there. I checked the female when i died an i cound not see anything exturnally wrong with the . But it was not eating an had a real thin stomach area. Thx in advance, T

could be fish TB (fish tuberculousis (sp?)), if it is, you cannot cure your fish and you'll have to throw the tank and anything that was in it out, because you cannot scrub the disease out of the tank :( and it is very deadly.

You serious? Thats some drastic move...are there no treatments like soaking your tank in bleach solution for a few days, surely it should clear it out after that. Afterall it is just a bacterium and if its curable in humans through antibiotic courses then surely a substance like bleach will kill the bacterium as it is considered a Gram positive bacterium so any disruption to the outer layer of the bacterial coat will immediately rupture the bacterium. The bacterium can withstand weak disinfectants so if you use a good concentrated solution of bleach you should be able to kill it or just simply empty out the tank and leave it to sit for a few weeks (keep it dry) and the bacterium will die.

Better than throwing it out if ya ask me!! :)

Really ,lol. the tank will bleach out, an i checked fish TB too, does not seem to be either. I moved him to a Q tank. from a 20 with other fish, those fish had been in there an seem fine from when the female yellow died 2 weeks ago. Just the yellow cermcicle mollies have the problem, so beening that if it's that deadly, my other fish would be afected as well. Anyone else with a real idea here? THXXXXXXXXX

Well went to the LFS today, to try an get an answer there. Needed some Oto's. i took pic's an took the camera with me . Read there disesae book also. an still no poistive answer, If he don't show signs of getting better by tomorrow night it will be his last. Can't stand to see it suffering

I too have had a very similar problem with a few Guppies, they seem to be ok for a day or two when I bring them from the LFS, but then they start to loose the ability to swim sorts of. If I tease it a bit it will move to another location and again just sit still, at times even leaning to one side, this last for a day or so and eventually I passes away. I have taken these fish to many LFS in the area and no one knows anything about the issue.

Will let you know if I get any info.

Well i believe i found the problem, iternal parasites, worms, many forms of them , but got a cure all treatment thats why yopu can't see nothing wrong as i can't. well at least i now what to treat for now , thx for ALL the help

Sounds like your tank hasn't cycled. You have some kind of contamination problem going on. What size and how long has it been up and running? BTW..don't ever, ever, no not NEVER clean a tank out w/bleach.

did you read from the top post what are my water parms, i would never clean a tank that has been set up for a year or that had anything in it with bleach. kills everything including the bio colonies in the tank. But i think it's internal parasites , an i now what i am treating for

I still think it's something with your tank, did you check with the store where you purchased the fish?
