Yellow African Cichlids

they look orange to me mate
id probably say hybred due to the purchase location and quality including the barring
sorry

Haha nothing to be sorry about. When u say hybrid any idea a hybrid of what? So r u saying one is bright orange and the others are light orange.

I'm just looking for info on what their needs are and what I can expect from them.

they could be a mix of yellow labs and red zebra or saulosi or god knows what? its quite common for malawis to mix with similar coloured malawis in a tank, its an unfortunate part of the hobby as pure strain fish become harder to find in lfs.
they will act like a normal mbuna just do weekly 50% water changes and fill your tank with lots of rock and feed a good quality food sprinula flake is a good option.
my honest advice would be take them back find a local breeder and get a trio or quad of saulosi 1m 3 female :good:

And can I then keep that trio or quad in a 20 gallon tank?

too small for malawis the smallest id say would be 30g for 3/4 fish

So only one of these is left. Normally I wouldnt even think of this but went to a restaurant with a huge tank that had a bunch of unmixables in it.

Can I successfully put this single fish in my 55 with rainbow shark angels gourami ?
