My L144's spawned today for the 1st time, I am soooo chuffed just thought I'd share.

Wow - caught "in the act" so to speak

Was that the actual spawn or part of a bigger picture (just wondering how long it takes the female to lay the eggs )

It went on for quite a bit longer, but I only managed to get that bit on the camera.

Dad is in the cave fanning away, so fingers crossed he's fanning something lol I'm really trying to resist getting the torch out

Fingers crossed, it's there first clutch so I know anything could happen, but it's a good start And if he does bugger up this time hopefully he'll know better for next time

Hi kribensis12! Thanks for "missing" me!
Life's had a bit of an overhaul this past year - new house, studies, volunteer work, job - life really has been crazy and I now longer have the hours and hours I used to spend here
Just as well all my fish are ticking over just nicely and I've had no problems (touch wood!) for many months now - and my catfish are growing like fat little piggies. No new additions even - must do something about that really.......

I sometimes lurk around a bit but this L144 post caught my eye because I have a few L144 girls myself and they are just such beautiful.

Thank you all. Just thought I post a quick update.

Here is a pic of the eggs. Taken yesterday when Dad left the cave for a few seconds to chase of my other male

I've had a really gravid female trying to get in the male's cave for a while now and this morning he finally let her in, I've just had a nosey with the torch and he has a new and rather large clutch of eggs and wigglers from the 1st clutch. I'm so chuffed
