Yeah 20g Tank-how To Set Up

hey guys tomarrow i am pickin up a 20g tank..it is used and comes with a filter, light, tank, hood and heater..i am gonna do a fishless cyle first and then i am thinkin of slowly adding in 10 neons, 4 mollies, and a few catfish..

i am pretty excited becase this is gonna be the first real descent size tank i have had..i currently have a 1g tank wtih a betta fish in it and he is happy lol..anyway in terms of adding the fish after the cycle..i was thinkin adding the mollies and then catfish and last the tetras..is that a good idea since i would wnat to add like 5 neons and then a few weeks later add 5 more..any suggestions on adding fish properly to the tank is greatly appreciated..

as of now i am savin up for between a 50 and 90g tank for either some ciclids or discus fish lol! im not sure what one i like more

hi,
the best advice i could give you is research each fish you think you might want because alot of fish either don't get on with each other or prefer different types of water like mollies like hard and slightly brackish water where as tetras (neons) like soft water

Just don't buy any really large catfish... remember "fish grow"... avoid common plecs and similar species...

ya i wont..i picked up the tank today and set it all up..it takes longer that i was expecting to get everything the way i want it lol..now i am fishless cycling it
