I finally got the money to get my little Sakana a propper home, and he's loving it. It's a 2.5 gallon tank with gravel on the bottom, two small silk plants, a small little cave, and a nice open area above it all to swim in. It also has a whisper filter in it.. That helps the water SO MUCH! I was afraid it would ba a shock to dump him in that tank, but the first thing he did was swim circles in the open area, then flare at his reflection. It was like he had been waiting for this all his little life.

I almost did a rescue mission when I bought the tank though... I got the tank at Wal-Mart, and I caught sight of the bettas. They did something to them even worse than the little cups. They put them in little cups which were open on the top, hanging into the tank with the GOLDFISH! I felt so bad for the little guys.. . one of the goldfish got into one of the betta's containers, and the goldfish was trying to push the betta out... I went and found an employee to tell him, and he looked at me and said, "so?" Ugh, I HATE Wal-Mart. :p I wish I could have saved all four of them, but I don't even have the extra room for one. :(

At least my little Sakana is happy. :D

I know! Wal*Mart doesn't do good with bettas (really any fish) @ my walmart all of the bettas are either really sick or dead just left in those little cases hanging from the tanks! :(

:(

One of my LFS's have 14 bettas in those little cups with no lids on. The first time I went there, one male jumped into the next cup and started fighting. I pointed it out to the woman at the counter, and she came over to the cup, scooped it up with a net and dumped it into the fantail goldfish tank!

Anyway, I'm glad your betta likes his new home! :D
