I went to the pet store and i found a bunch of female bettas! I bought the prettiest one. I am soo happy. In about 2 weeks i may put her in with my male. I am so happy! I aslo got a new saltwater tank! Today was another happy day for me!

to breed them or just put them together? if you dont have an intention to breed-then dont put them together!

i just picked out two female betats at my lfs too :D i'm really excited about them, they look sorta weak (one has horizontal stripes - stress stripes), but i'm determined to nurse them back to health (have done so for my other 3 bettas, which came in just as weak as these two new gals).

 good luck with em :D

in around 2 weeks i willl put her in with the male so they can breed. She has to fill up with eggs, and i still need to get more jars, and rubbermaid containers. OH, and will the babies eat liquifry? My older bettas seem to like it. XD

OH and good luck raising your bettas cutecotton.

Could you post a pic of what you mean Cutecotton? One of my female bettas has horizontal stripes. I just thought she looked cute because of it, I didn't know it was a problem to have stripes.

the babies dont eat liquifry. it feeds the infusoria that the fry eat. i use liquifry until they are big enough for bbs.

wait. U said they dont, but then u said u feed it to them? Or was that a typo? I am sorry. That threw me off a little bit.

liquifry does not actually feed the fry. it feeds the infusoria. the fry eat the infusoria.

but is infosuria alreeady in the tank? And this feeds the inforuria so that the infosuria is i guess nutricious for them?

Sorry about the spelling

yeah infursia is nutrisious for the fry, the liquidfry just encourages infurosia to grow so there's more for the fry to eat :D

to birdofprey, i dont' have a digital camera, but i saw that most dark colored female betas in my petstore had horizontal stripes. i'm going to let her sit for a few days, get adjusted, etc and see if the stripes dont' go away. If they do, i'll take it that they were stress stripes, if not, i guess she just..stripey? lol.

if you have plants-they are probably already in the tank. if you start adding liquifry several days before hand-it should give the infusoria a day to develop

Speaking of female bettas, my friend gave me a double tail female two days ago.. she is such a vibrant red, and her body is really light, She has no dark splotches anywhere... maybe she's a cambodian? Her fins are full too, I'm so proud of her.
