Hi all, photos once they have settled in after today. Just bought to 1 1/2" hoplos to go in my tank with the 5 peppered cories. The guy at my local indoor market had no idea what they were (had them labled as marbled catfish?). But he only had two in the tank. Seeing as all his fish are healthy, I bough em both (£3 each :>). Was a bit risky, had to take em back on the train, in an insulated box, but so far worked out well. Anyway, can they be happy with just two, or must I strive to find another?

Both settled extremely quickly, I mean comming to the front almost immediatly, socialising with the cories... cool :> I evengave em a very small ammount of food, which they ate. I'll feed em again tomorrow.

Hope you like the pic :> THis one is called Hobo, and the other one (about a third the size, a little thin, I'll keep an eye on it) will be named by the missus.

Any info is greatm thanks!

I,ve had a single Port hoplo in my community tank for about 2 years now. He/she seems quite happy on it's own. doe's tend to mooch about amongst the plants but as soon as there is food in the tank it screams about hoovering everything up!

cool :> thats alright, maybe the two will find company in with my cories? ah, can but hope!

I have a pair and would really suggest getting another, the interaction between them is amazing to watch :)

They are lovely fish, such a good natured cat even with the much smaller Albino Corys.

Here is one of mine

Ahhh Beautiful :> I cannot wait til they get bigger :> they do seem to shoal with my corydoras, maybe because of similar colouring. But Yes I shall endeavour to acquire another one, as soon as I find one :>

This was the first time I had ever found them. He also has several species of Corydoras too for cheap prices (Leopardi for £1.50).

Also, your LFS maybe be able to order em in for you, they used to be really abundant years ago (in England at least - never in Wales)

Heres the smaller one, the Missus called it 'Tramp'. Lovely.
