Fish Herder
i was cehcking on my mw culture tonight, and i tnoiced something very strange. First off lets start with what my cluture uses as "ingredient", in a little container i have mixed:
oatmeal
yeast
bread
water
sugar
1 dorp of small animal vitamins
mixed until it's very gooey. so i add in the worms, and a few days later, all the solids have gathered at teh bottom and i end up with the liquidy layer on top, and within a week the mw would be blooming.
and it was, until thsi morning when i saw this white/flaky/film stuff covering my entire culture! thinking that my wroms have suffocated, i scooped out the thin film and threw it out. (no clue waht it is, never seen it before). after a few hours, the culture was blooming again, with a LOT of wroms. so i harvested waht i needed for hte babies. and left it.
and now tonight, i find that same film stuff on it top of the culture again, and once again, no worms. So i removed that film stuff again, and a few hours later, voila! worms have flying out like crazy. So i harvested again, and i took a look at the culture this time and i noticed the mw seems to have grown a lot bigger
usually they are very very thin, almost like a pencil line thing, well now they look twice as fat i have no idea what's going on. I assume they are safe to feed, i just seem to have extra large mw now?
live food drives me insane
