I had an xp2 sitting for a little while and today I cleaned it out real nice and re-ran the hoses. Primed beautifully, but when I plugged it in I couldn't get it to pump. I can feel a slight vibration coming from it indicating the motor is working (I think), but the impeller doesn't seem to be working. I checked the impeller again to make sure it was clean and it still doesn't want to work. I wasn't sure if there was anything else I could do, or if the motor was bad. I'm thinking maybe the impeller still, but I can't seem to get it clean enough or somethings is in the chamber. Any ideas?

Are you sure you put the filter baskets back together again properly? If that very top strainer in the top basket isn't the right way up, it won't work.

If not that, take it under the shower and gentle blast some water into there to see if anything is stuck in the impellor chamber.

Can you post a pic of the impeller chamber and the impeller please? Also, inspect the shaft and the barings for any damage and post pics of them too if possibe :good: The barings are made f rubber and tend to crack and disintigrate if they are dried out after a long run in water. They may need replacing.

Thanks, I managed to get the impeller spinning, but only when the impeller cap was off, it would continue to work if I placed the cap back on while it was running. I think that it is slightly off center and this is preventing it from torquing up enough to start with the cap off. This may or may not be due to the bushings wearing out, I took them out and cleaned them real well but to no avail. Do those bushing wear out over time?

I have the filter running right now, but it was a little wet going together, I had to drop the top on the basin, snap the tubes in place and seal the basin; All while water was flying all over the place, but it was the only way to get it running. It was pretty funny looking back on it.

Most likely is an issue with the bearings. They don't like sitting dry after running under water for a resonable length of time :good: I'd replace, as the bearings will caurse the seating issue you desribe
