Xenia Just Arrived.

Ok, no time to upload pics but I just got home and the xenia (lights have been off for a couple of hours) looks the same as it did when I introduced them. Going to wait until tomorrow to compare with the older pics.

i remember when my xenia split for the first time i got really scared because the half that split off looked like it was dead and out of it for about 3 days. i even posted pics about it on here. however after a while they perked up alot and they are fine now. every once in a while one of my xenias will look all ugly and dead, when the others seems to be fine. after a while that perks up as well. actualyl one of mine was down for the count yesterday, and today he's fine again...they are really wierd sometimes...at least in my tank

I mean these look bad...like the stalk is fleshy and puffy looking with little rips in it, and it's just a lump of meat...the other ones look a little better...but theyre like fleshy stalks with stiff, wavy tentacles coming out. The deaf kids finally responded though, they said they would get a new one sent out to me ASAP regardless. They said that none of their corals shipped out last week survived. They said theyre asking all of their customers to record the temp of the water in the bag when we receive them. I remember the water being very very cold. He went into a big thing about xenia and the affect of cold-stress on them so that would make sense. Anyhoo, I'll have to get all you US folks a link to these guys ebay store as theyre pretty good to deal with and they have great deals.

Well the frags started to dissentigrate so I decided it was time to move on. The replacements just arrived today, the water was a good 90*F so I'm not worried about cold stress Acclimating them now as I type, I'll post the results in an hour.

The new ones at least have heads on them, they still look like crap. Really saggy and pale looking. God they smelled terrible.

Well...today they look the same, like rotting crap. The stalks are patched white and dark gray. They look like rotting flesh. All of the heads I could see are now gone and most of the "tentacles" have fallen off.

Not to rub it in or anything but i got a frag today. 3 different bunches on a piece of tonga rock, he gave it to me for a tenner and i cant wait for it to grow and for me to frag it
Something's gotta be wrong with their stock then...

It's not their stock, it's their shipping...it's crap. The temp in the bags when I'm getting them is either way too cold or way too hot. Theyre shipping out yet ANOTHER bunch of frags on Jan 3rd. I hope this one survives as I dont think my roommates and girlfriend will be able to stand the stench of another box of dying softies. I swear I could actually feel the smell going into my lungs. Its terrible.
