WW3

I would love to see a vid of your tank, how many betta's do you have at home, and how many at work.

This one is just priceless! She really does look like she's glaring you down.
Yeah.
I have several photos of her, and I'm pretty sure that in NONE of the others has her with a scowl on her face. heh heh

Wilder - I have been tossing around the idea of getting a video cam - in this day and age you would think it'd be one of those things just to have. I will see what I can do. I've been wanting one for quite some time now...
and I have 10 (6 girls and 4 boys) at home and 4 here at the office.
Jasper, Charlie, Lucky and Six are at the office
Jack, Louis, Archie, Harvey and all the gals are at home :)

Do you take the seeds out of the inside of the cucumber?
Your females are so cute though. She does look like she's staring everyone down so that they wont get near her cucumber.

I don't take the seeds out - my cichlids love the seedy bit best! I do peel it though cos I don't boil it and they put wax and all kinds of stuff on veggies skins over here

PS and I'm too cheap to buy organic...

:D Love the pics!!! Gary must be one heck of a guy. Snail and Goldie are pretty good at moving around the tanks but they don't do much damage other than they will wrap around the thermometer and turn it to where I can't see it without sticking my arm in the tank and adjusting it. I thought it was the frogs at first, but I caught Snail in the act. I got a ramshorn snail (Wink) to go into Hunter's tank over the weekend but put him in with Goldie in the big tank at first. Goldie found him almost immediately and they were inseperable after that. Either they were side by side or Goldie was all over Wink. :-( I hope it was platonic.

do you ever notice your bettas trying to make food of your snail? i put 2 gold mysteries in my community tank and they were in there a whole 5 minutes before i had to move them

Batista, who is my most agressive betta by far poked at Snail for the first couple of times that Snail came out and started moving around the tank, but accepted him pretty easily. When I took Snail out overnight when I was doing some changes to his tank, I think Batista got depressed. When I first put Snail in with him he started making bubble nests, when Snail was out - no nests, Snail back in, more nests. :dunno:

The girls in the tank stared at him for a while before he started moving around, then when his little feelers came out, a couple of times they tried to nip at them - but I think they just thought it was food.

They don't try to eat him anymore, but I am pretty sure that they'd be depressed if I took him out too. :)

I didn't take out the seeds.
I suppose I should, huh?

I will from now on!
I wasn't really suggesting that you should. I was just wondering so I can prepare some for my boy.

That got me wondering, though.
Thinking of how teeny their mouths are I think maybe I should because the way they suck food in, I can see a seed getting lodged in there. That would be awful!!

Great pics of your bettas, how big do betta's get as they look small in the tank.

Well
They start out pretty teeny.
The ones I have now - their bodies are about 1 1/4" long - some can get a bit bigger, some stay pretty small. They look really teeny too, because we're all used to seeing the nice long flowing fins of the boys.
