i throw an algae wafer in every day when i feed my fish, but my pleco doesnt eat the whole thing lol...my clown and dojo loaches get greedy and take some too...i havent given mine a cucumber for a while but i did it about once a week as a treat...you might be able to use the cucumber more...?...idk, hope this helps

clown plecs are great we've had one in my sons tank for about 3 yrs although he was moved in my tank this week as they are bit feisty and it had been sniping at a larger sultan plec

BN#s are great , they get quite large, my male I measured the other day at about 5 and a half inches but very impressive fish despite theeir dull colouring. good luck with em

I don't think BN's have dull colouring. Mine change their colouring depending if they're on the dark bogwood or on the light sand. And if they catch the light right they almost look bronze with a lovely metallic sheen.
