I recently went to the market, and the man there advised me to get 2 bala sharks, I am thinking about getting a 75 gallon anyway, so I got two for my tank, just for the moment. He also said it was ok if I were to get 10 serpae tetras. a few days later I see no problem with the sharks, they just stay next to the filter, but I find once again that a neon is stuck to the filter with it's eyes sucked out. I have lost about 4 neons in the filter, 2 with no eyes. It must be one of the fish I had before it's either the yo yo loaches, guppies, neon dwarf gourami, opaline, corydora, other neons.
But these serpaes seem to chase each other around a lot. They also seem to chase the corydoras.
My main concern as I creep further towards it in this post :fun: Is that should I have got 2 bala sharks, I read somewhere this morning that I should not keep less than 6 of them :dunno:

The answer to your question is NO. Sharks are designed for large tanks- over 100 galls and large tanks. It does sound most odd for the filter to be able to suck the fish into it unless the filter inlet is unprotected. All filters sold always have some sort of safe guard against fish being drawn into the inlet vent. I would presume if the fish were sucked into the filter and the filter has been set up properly, the fish must have been dead before the event.
How and why remains a mystery as you don't tell us must about the setup you have and all the other fishes you have.

:D :D :D :D What you need to do is do your own research, then ask questions from these people who work at lfs's.

See if they are telling you correct or consistent info. This way you know who to trust in the case of impulse buys! :D :D :D :D

IMO if you are not doing some research they are all impulse buys!
