So I went to my LFS today to check on moving my tank friday and to let them know I'd be coming by to get some fish bagged and they said that'd be fine, blah blah blah, so I left there and went to petsmart just to walk around a bit, so I went in and started looking at the tanks, I WAS IMPRESSED, there wasn't a single sign of Ich in any tank, and I only found 3 dead fish. Then after noticing how alive the tanks were I noticed there selection was INCREDIBLE, I found they had dwarf puffers, sinigal bichirs (small (about 2 or 3 inches) 5 99), ornate (sp?) bichir (yes ORNATE (sp?) 54.99) yoyo loaches, network synos, and black khuli loaches. I couldn't believe my eyes, I am glad I'm not an impulse buyer who buys fish when I don't even have tanks set up for them yet but I sure was tempted today, I definetly wouldn't have minded one of each I listed, but A. I don't have the tanks for them (well not set up and ready for fish) and B. I don't have the money.

Sorry just thought I'd brag about Petsmart for a change, I made sure to tell the manager to keep up the good work. I even over heard him (before the compiment) telling the associate to make sure all the fish were compatible that were together and to move any that weren't, even if the planogram (the corporate plan for what fish go where) said to do differently. Like I said I was impressed.

That's great!

Last week, I returned my tank decorations at Petsmart because the paint was harmful to my fish and I got almost a hundred dollars in store credit! :hyper:

I have several Petsmarts very close to me. I can say they are consistent. One of them is great, one is okay, and one is horrible. I talked to the store manager at the good one and asked why it is so inconsistent. He said the managers have a lot of leeway in what they offer and how they manage their store. Some know a lot and care about their aquatic offerings and some couldn't care less. I've found the same thing with Petco, although their selection is never as varied.

That'a a pretty good petsmart, here where I live I feel bad for all the fish that ends up at petsmart because they are always cramp into little 10 gallon tanks, I feel bad for a school of 4" tinfoil barbs that's cramp into a 10 gallon tanks.... :(

i went into petsmart a while ago for my first time, and i was amazed at all the fish they offered. they had upsidedown catfish, which i had never seen anywhere else before. and i like how everythings set up. definetly will go back.

hmmm now that I think about it petsmart is the only place I've ever seen carry upside down catfish, but that's normal to see them there, the fish I listed above aren't what I normally see there, just recently they showed up. I think I might even buy fish from this petsmart (usually would only stick to my one lfs as I love how well they keep up their fish and how nice and knowledgable the owner is (can't say the same about the rest of the staff but the owner's always there it seems))
