I'm just wondering if you guys think I could put 2 dwarf gouramis or 2 pearl gouramis in my 35gallon tank. It already has : 2 angelfish, 1 molly, 4 black tetra, 1 clown loach, 1 red shark, 1 sailfin pleco. Tell me what you think.

I suppose that space-wise they would fit in there, but I'm not sure about combining angels with gouramis. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't kept pearl or dwarf gouramis myself, but I've heard they can be a bit nervous and shy, and if that's true it doesn't exactly help. The shark might stress them too.

By the way, I suggest you remove the clown loach you have. Not only are clown loaches social fish that want groups of three or more, but a 35 gal is too small for them since they can reach 12 inches in the wild and up to 8 inches in an aquarium.

it will take the loach YEARS before it reaches that size. They are an extremely slow-growing fish

I'd suggest he keeps it in there, 5 years down the line when the loach might actually outgrow the tank, he can sell it for some good money if he doesnt wanna get it a new tank--- large clown loaches are a rarity for obvious reasons.

Perhaps so, piranha45, but the point about the loach needing company still stands.

I wouldn't take a chance putting gouramis in a tank that already has angel fish, shimanocono.

I have two mature pearl females, who are tough enough to hold their ground against my big blue male gourami, but I don't think I'd even chance them with angels.
