Hi guys,
I am wondering if any of you would be interested in betta necklaces. They would be made out of small beads with a betta hanging from it. I am a fairly creative person, so I thought about this. Maybe someone else has already done it, but I am good with beads so hopefully I can make up a design somehow. You would be able to send me a picture of one of your bettas and I could try and do one up, which the exact colours. The rest of the necklace would of course have the matching beads with different patterns you could choose. I am just seeing if there would be any interest at all. I do crafts as a hobby so I wouldn't really be making money, just a cheap treat, if it will work out. Let me know if you are interested and what you think. Thanks ! :)

Oooo, that sounds pretty nifty! I'd be interested :D

Yeah, what would you make the betta out of, and how big would it be? I'v egot all sorts of things of that nature hanging around my room...I'd definately get one off you.

I thought about that after I posted :*) , the betta would be made out of beads as well, except that could be very hard so I was thining maybe using Fimo, that way it could be more detailed.

Oh and how much would you pay? I am just experimenting with this to see. Any opinions and/or ideas are apprechiated :)

SRC- not sure how big the betta will be, I have to figure out if I can make it with beads. I'm going back to uni next week, that's where all my beads are and I'll get to work and let you guys know.

Femo is like a dough kind of gooey play dough kind of mix and you can make stuff out of it, and then put it in the oven and it hardens. You can make a lot of things with it and you can get it in like every single colour, but it is hard to find sometimes.

Unless you're a wiz with doing 3-D beading or have a knack for brick stitch or peyote stitch, making the betta out of beads might be the more difficult route. However, I've had success with polymer clay for fishy pendents, you can add detail and colors without much weight. Plus they make polymer clay in metallics and with sparkles, that could add a little flare. I have instructions for a 3-D peyote stitch fish that could be modified to be more "betta-like" (I havent' tried to modify it yet myself, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard), if you'd like, PM me and I'll email you the instructions (all done in seed beads)

Thanks MAM, they wouldn't have to be 3-D really but I do agree that it will be hard either way so I'm thinking the fimo would look a lot nicer. It will take me a while until I have it figured out. I don't even know if it will work I was mainly just seeing if there is any interest :)

thanks :)

I was also thinking about cross stitched things. I am about to make my own betta designs and I could make pictures or purses or anything really with them on, aslong as I can get it on there, eee I looove crafts :)

If you do find a way to be crafty and fishy, there's a section on Aquabid for that sort of thing, so you'd have a great outlet for selling. I know I personally am always searching Aquabid and Ebay for fishy stuff like fun jewelry, figures, art, etc. So there'd be a market for your craft items.

Oh, and by the way, some IBC shows have a special Arts and Photography entry available, for folks to enter Betta-themed "art" and photos........... oh the possibilities............ ;)

thanks MAM, I have been thinking lots lately but it will be hard with beads, but fimo could work well, have to get a hold of some first though :)

I did see that section on aquabid :) I will see into that.

I have no idea where I would find these IBC shows,I'm in Canada -_-
