cation... i guess we'll just see what happens. won't reall know until we try, right? thanks for all your input :)

bettaboi, glad you're interested. i'll let you know when the time comes. :)

I'd be interested as well  I think it would be fantastic actually.

Sidenote: I just hit every aquarium shop on the way home looking for some potential betta tanks like those low, 4 ft long ones I see on here. No luck so far, but I'm gonna keep trying!

I have one of those for my turtle. It's a reptile tank and I got it from petsmart. I was thinking of getting another one and dividing it for my bettas, is that what you want it for? I think it would look really cool. :)

Looks like the "veils" I got from my first spawn. As I mentioned on the other thread, not like the veils in the chain stores, but the way the rays curve coming from the base of the caudal is a veiltail trait. What do I know, though? :dunno: Maybe I'm just interpreting it incorrectly, but that's the implication I got from Sonnier's email.

He's not flaring in that pic, so of course it looks like his rays are curving downward ;). When he flares he basically looks like a poor-quality delta. The rays don't all curve downward, but rather, the tail is symmetrical with both top and bottom rays curving inwards toward the center (as is the case with many plakats.) I could see it being the case that fish like this might have rays that are too pliable and weak to support the weight of the tail in full flair and this could be interpreted as veiltail, but it is my understanding that delta tails, with are horizontally symmetrical in shape, are a completely different trait than veil tails, which are not symmetrical.

That actually sounds incredibly cool. I don't suppose you have a pic of him flaring do, you? I'd love to see that. :*) Do you think a similar thing would be likely to occur in a HM X PK spawn? (my male/females' father was a PK and their mother was a HM so I'm dying to know what 'aberrations' i'm likely to see :p)

I feel like I'l hijacking... sorry Brooke :*)

I don't have a pic of him flaring because he's really laid-back, but I'll try to get one today (maybe seeing Abrid, my extremely angry boy, can get him to flare)
You would probably get the same thing in a HM x plakat spawn assuming the plakat is delta, yeah, but the HM parent will probably contribute to making the finnage much better :)
