Would it be ok to add a Mikrogeophagus ramirezi to my tank. Tank occupants are in my sig. Thanks in advance

I think the real problem is going to be the rtbs. They can grow a decent size and become very territorial. Though you might be able to add a ram now, in the future, I believe many of your fish will start getting beat up by the rtbs due to the smallish size and natural aggression of the redtail. This is prob your most aggressive and territorial fish right now.

Thanks, my shark is 6cm in lenght maybe 7cm including tail. Has grown a little and a mean a little maybe 1-2cm in 3 months. Shes not aggressive at all. She dosent bother any of my fish, infact she shares her cave/bogwood with my Dwarf Gourami. Maybe its an rare none aggressive shark. I am planing on getting a larger tank anyway (either the Rekord 96 or 120).

Is there any differnece other than colour of the Blue Rams and Gold Rams (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi).

No different in the rams cept the colour. I dont think you should put a ram into that set up, unless you were to upgrade to a larger tank.

They like their own territory and whilst the RTBS may be non aggressive now, I wouldnt like to risk the ram on the off chance it stays that way.

yep, since it is still quite small, it is in its juvenile habits of grouping with others for protection, but once it comes to the realization that it can bully and hold its own, it most likely will become a terror. And yes, a tank upgrade would be an ace idea

20 gallons(about 81 liters) seems on the small side for those fish. A tank upgrade sounds like like a good idea to me. As for the shark, it will probably get aggressive as time goes by in that tank, but there is also the possibility that because it is growing up with those fish it might not be as aggressive as it would be if you just introduced it at a larger size. Still, you should get a bigger tank. Yay!

Personally I'd rehome the shark and add a pair of Ram's...given the potential issues with the shark in the long term I'd suggest it'd be a good idea. Given the choice between leaving your tank as it is or rehoming the RBTS and adding Ram's, I'd recommend the latter-I suspect you'll get more enjoyment out of the tank that way.

areed. i own a 20gallon tank and it's not as big as i thought it was when i bought it. check your local secondhand market for a larger tank. that way you can get yourself a great deal. around here, you can find a 55 gallon for about $50us. the sooner you get one the better. :good:
