Hi all!

I fully intended to purchase a 64l tank and have been hoping to for the past couple of weeks now. However, the offer it was on that made it considerably cheaper, ended the day before I went to purchase it! :X I am desperate to get our two ADFs out of the tank they are currently in, its a very old rekord 60 and I havnt liked it for a long time. I am still hoping to purchase the 64L tank(and keep ringing the store to see if its gone back on offer! ) but I have decided while im waiting to get a smaller tank to move the frogs into. I figured once we finally get the tank we planned on then the smaller one can be kept as a spare. The tank I spotted yesterday was an aqua one 320, its 28L/6GAL so plenty big enough for the frogs. What I wondered is if it would also be big enough for a Betta to live with them? Im not 100% sure I will get a boy until we have the bigger tank, but I have been waiting so long for a fighter and I keep seeing so many gorgeous ones that its getting harder and harder to be patient! I will of course hold out if the tank isnt big enough for the frogs and a Betta, and as I said I may just wait until we have the bigger tank anyway, but I thought it couldnt hurt to ask!

I really cant wait to join the world of Betta keeping, all of your photos of your gorgeous fish do nothing to help!

hi there. I have just bought a aquaone 320 and my betta loves it, but ADF's may not be the best choice of tank mate for a betta. I dont know of anyone that has them together. it would suit either the frogs, or the Betta. How much of an offer was it. I know pets at home sell it for 59.99

Hiya, thanks for the reply. Good to come across someone who has this tank! Can I ask if you think its good?

When I mentioned the offer I was referring to the 64L tank I intend to get-its the fish box in PAH and until recently it was on offer for £99 with the stand. The day before I went to get it, the offer was taken down, so it would now cost me £70 more for the tank and stand  So I keep ringing to see if its gone back on offer yet, as they promised it would! lol

So yes when I was having a peek in PAH yesterday at the smaller tanks I spotted this and really liked it and thought it would be great for now. I saw it there for £59 too, but my LFS have said they can order it in for £46 and its £45 online.

As for ADFs and Bettas making good tank mates, ADFs are listed as a good tankmate for Bettas on this forum and I think quite a few members have/do keep them together without problems, though of course there are always exceptions! I think the only problem people have mentioned is the Betta stealing food from the frogs, but we hand feed our frogs anyway so this wont be a problem :good:

So yes, just wanted to see if 6 Gal would be big enough for my two frogs and a Betta. I figured it would be plenty big enough for a Betta alone, or my two frogs alone, but not sure if it would be classed as over stocking if they were in together. Don't want to do anything to cause either species any stress! Good to know your Betta likes his tank though, do you have any photos? would love to see :D

I think its a good size tank for them, I think they should be fine together as well, though Bettas have different temperament I've seen people have this combination n they get on fine. I love Bettas they have quite a personality. Add some floating plants, Bettas seem to like that. Good Luck!

the fish box 64L is a nice tank. I have one of those too...the only problem with mine is the electrics for the lid...they sometimes get broke,...this is the second lid. I've got a new one on order

Thanks! and yes it is the personality of Bettas that is attracting me so much to them. I have had all sorts of fish in a community tank over the years and although I've loved them all, I havn't really seen any character in any of them. Though I had a loach that survived jumping out of a tiny space in the back of the tank and then being picked up by one of my cats and nearly swallowed! He became a bit more lively in the tank after that for some reason

Sorry you are having problems with your fish box. I figured getting the 6 gal tank will buy me a little time to keep my eye out for other tanks too. I did search for a few weeks before deciding on the fish box so I think we will stick to that one, but you never know! The only thing I didn't like about it was the gap in the lid at the back, due to fighters being jumpers and having cats I dont want another rerun of what happened with my loach!
