Worthwhile Books?

Is there more than one edition of this book, Coryologist? Mine is copyright 2005 and that's before there were CW numbers.

I did see (just on a quick browse) one of your lovely pictures of an albino sailfin C. paleatus and a couple in the back that were not yet identified. I can't find the others in there either.
good call Inchworm, maybe there are more than 1 edition. these are the pics i also saw of Franks and still cant find the gold and green striped corys...
mine was also published in 2005 and says first edition at the bottom of page 2

Hi All,

It's been a while since I have been here, the new day job, my fish, the CSG and my own site seem to take up all my time and some these days.

Just to answer a couple of the points in this topic, firstly the Green & and Gold laser Cory's can be seen on page 164. They were put there under C. melanotania, because at the time of writing my co author and myself considered them to be closer related to then than C. aeneus. The orange and Red laser are nearer to C. aeneus.

The CW-numbering system was introduced on my site after the publication of my identification book and after it appeared that the German DATZ magazine were not continuing with C-numbers. Although they have in fact issued a further 13. There have so far to date been 45 CW-numbers issued, these can be viewed on planetcatfish, scotcat and I love corydoras as well as the source site corydorasworld. I am not trying to send people away from this site, but merely stating where the information can be found.

Regarding the availability of my books, the identification book is readily available direct from my site, with a 15% discount for site members. The Breeding book is now back in stock after being out of print for a short time. Again this can be obtained directly through me or my site, this carries a 10% discount for members. Every book I sell directly is personally signed and if requested I will even add a dedication.

I am currently working on a supplement for the Identification book rather than a second edition, I think it would be a rip off to produce a second edition for a mere 60 - 70 additional pages.

The Breeding book however is in the process of being re written and there will be a second edition of this. The first edition contains around 65 species spawning logs, but as well as having a complete update of the first section, there will be more than 130 species spawning logs in the second edition. This is probably 18 months or so away from completion.

Hi Coryman :)

It's always good to see you again.

Thanks for the information about your book. While I knew there must have been something about the laser corys in there, I just didn't think to look under C. melanotania for them. And sure enough there is Coryologist's picture of the green one in there.

I'll be looking forward to seeing both the supplement to the Identification book and the new Breeding book when they are finished. Reading them, and even just looking at the pictures, has already given me many hours of pleasure. :)

Thanks so much for that Coryman, looking forward to my identification book in the post! I was looking into the breeding edition and will probably hold fire for the exciting new edition :good:

Well got the book and it is signed by Coryman himself! Gorgeous identification book, just need to save up for the breeding one next!
