I have around 40-45 gambusia fry that I would like to move to a "grow-out" tank. But last time I moved some of my fry, they died. I checked the water stats in the new tank and they were very close to the tank the fry were born in. Should I acclimate them in bags, etc.? Any suggestions? Thanks!

if the stats are close, you could probly move them, just be careful so they're not too stressed. how are you planning on moving them? (net, turkey baster....?)

Why wouldn't you bag them??? If they are really young I would bag them, adding some water just incase something is a little off. Congrats on the fry :D

I've never done anything out of the way when i move older fry to a bigger tank. Just scoop some up in a cup/container, then every minute or so slowly add some water from the new tank. Let them adjust, then add some more, and so on. Never had a fry die from moving them.
