Woohoo!

no thats the date i sed i could pick it up.

probably could of worded it better.

ive sent a message to the guy who won the filter he was selling.

see if they have heard anything.

you may use ebay's advanced search features to look for the seller's contact details (i.e phone number) and phone him...

sweet thanx for that.

apprently ill get an email with is details.

what do i say tho. wheres my tank?

ask him if it's ok to pick up on monday.
hopefully, he put his correct details on his ebay file.
:good:

EDIT: spelling

Don't panic yet or be too harsh. He/She is a Great eBay member of almost 3 years with 100% feedback. He might have gone away for the bank holiday weekend or something quite feasible might have come up. I know you're excited about your tank, but you "might" not hear from him/her till Tuesday. So don't get too angry just yet.

gonna wait till i finish work 2morro afternoon and if ive still heard nothing then ill ring him.

isnt that the beauty of paypal tho? dont you HAVE to put in YOUR details.

you have to put your correct details at paypal but they don't sent it out to the other parties.
has he replied on your initial contact?
have you done the ebay checkout already?

havent heard anything from him and yea i paid with paypal.

its what ive always done but will never do again lol.

jus gonna wait and see now cos thats all i can do.

good thing about paypal is that you can get your money back if you do not receive the tank..
paypal gives more protection to the buyer compared to the seller..

strange, because i would expect the seller to prefer cash on collection..
this way, he do not have to pay the paypal fees..
:sly:

yea i was thinkin the same but as i think anyone would be...im paranoid as hell!! lol
ill see how it goes.
Understandable

Don't be silly - paypal is very secure and this is from an eBay member with a 100% feedback and a 3 Year reputation. They're really not going to throw that down the drain for £50 odd - it's honestly not worth it (losing their reputation that was built up so long). You are being far far too hasty!

You're absolutely right about paypal refunding. I've done this before with success.

But I would never personally take COD. Even though I have to pay paypal fees, at least I have some assurance. I don't want the buyer messing me around with collection times etc. and then turn up not liking when they see. Far easier then to just walk away and not pay. Yes I know negative feedback can still be left etc. but it's so much safer with paypal.

I myself have been a member and buying/selling on eBay for almost 4.5 years now - so feel I have a fairly good understanging of buyers/sellers and buying/selling.

i believe it's down to preference.
i myself prefer cash on collection for several reasons:
- i do not want to pay the paypal fees and receive the money after more than 2 days minus another fee if it is less than £50...money down the drain with no protection to me (seller) whatsoever..i only get protection when i post the item and get a proof of posting (that obviously, that is not cash on collection) and then again, that is protection given by royalmail and not paypal... :grr:
- i describe my items very well and if the buyer disagree that i have not described the item properly (valid reasons only) then to be fair, i will let it go... :hey:
- saves my buyer extra money on the postage and me on packaging the item and going to the post office... :yahoo:
- i get to meet another ebayer! 8)

again, preference and gut feeling that not all people will sell their soul to the  for a few pounds...

well the person who bought his filter replied and they sed he hasnt replied to them either yet.......

strange.

might be out for holiday.
or hasn't check his emails yet.

Sorry SamUK, was having a monday!!

Ive been an ebayer for 2 years, 100% positive ffeedback and extremely proud of it, do anything to keep that 100% - i give postage guarantees the lot - sure some people may rip me off by saying "i havent gotten x yet" (on the odd occasion I do not get it signed for) but i bleieve inthe goodness of most people and give a full refund if its not turned up in 30 days - the royal mail official lost items time.

Personally, you should always give:

1 week from purchase for payment/contact to collect (although some people are clever and note on auctions if they are away during x dates if the auction ends on it, not all are that thoughtful) ande given one month (4 weeks) from payment for delivery.

Ive been an ebayer for 2 years, 100% positive ffeedback

same as SamUK's seller...
100% positive feedback and been an ebayer since july '03..

and as SamUK i should say...
100% positive feedback and been an ebayer since jan '04..

and same as me i should add...
100% positive feedback (1824) and been an ebayer since oct '01..
