So, now, my tank is 'officially' set up! I never thought it'd happen. XD
I have 7 ghost shrimp, 3 adfs, and 1 betta.
The shrimps are like little ninjas and vanish underneath the bogwood during the day and come out at night. Please note that I know that bettas sometimes eat shrimp, and I know sometimes they get really aggressive towards any and all tankmates.
The shrimp seem to be harrassing my pond snails to no end, in fact... I think they ate/killed the only two I Had.
MY ADFS, I just now added, after an hour's acclimation. They each shot in 3 seperate directions, and one simply sat down. I hope they do well.
Furin, my male betta, is the king of all he surveys. I've never ever seen him so active. He was always listless in his bowl, even when I put him in the 2gal bowl, he'd just sort of sit himself down and stare out into the world. Now he roams around, eating little worms and water fleas, investigates, patrols. He can even see his 'flare buddy', Sori, who lives on my desk. All I need to do to flare them now, is move my pencil stand.
His tail has a tiny split in it, which occured when I wasn't home, but he seems to be handling the current really well.
Furin flared at one of my adfs for about 20 seconds, before he just sort of gave up and wandered away. I got to see him stalk one of my ghost shrimp for a little while, before he also lost interest and wandered away. It seems he's a bully with a very short attention span.
I never knew my listless little marble VT had so much personality. I hope after all this, when I rehome him and his 3 frog subordinates to the 5g tank, he doesn't throw a pout or something. (in about 1-2 months, I'm going to convert my 10gal to a puffer species tank)
Anyways, I know it's of little importance to the world, but it's great to see him in there. If I could take a picture, I would. I love it when he eats those tiny little worms (nematodes?). His tail is purple-ing up and everything. He's like a little mood ring of fishy joy, or something.
*Edit: >< Ah, crap. I think my hornwort is tearing his fins.
