Wonderful cories

Is it just me but I seem to have major problems with cories. They are such wonderful little fish with lots of personality but I have bought 2 lots of 6 now for separate tanks and always seem to lose about half of any new batch I get, over a period of time. Its depressing! I do regular water changes and tank maintenance but something always seems to happen to blow all my good work out the water. Otos, which a lot of people say they have problems with, absolutely bloom with me!

Does anybody else have the same experiences?

I've only ever lost two cories. One was dead within an hour of bringing it home and was because PetCo wasn't taking good care of them. The other two I got were healthy and lived. I had a schwartzi die from an burn injury a year and a half or so back but that's been it. Other fish though, I've had some problems with. Bettas I do great with then one day they get sick and die for no reason.

I have had good fortune with my five cories.
So far my new plecs have their sails up.
But I have a poison thumb with otos. One of my new herd is down for the count. The rest seem okay so far. My poor record with otos is why I got extras.
