Okay so I have been gone from home for a while, and I left my tanks in tge care of my parents. Then they went on holidays and nobody went into my room for almost 3 weeks so the tank kinda died. The good thing was that I moved all the fish to my downstairs 33 gallon so there were no deaths, but the tank looks like this: (Sorry for the bad picture, I had to use a different light to see what was even happening there)

I'm pretty sure that there must have been a power surge or something because the light switched off and wouldnt fix until i rewired it a small bit (one of the cables that connected it to the plugin was broken) and the heater was turned off. After I turned the lights on again and cleaned it up of all the big clouds of biofilm and algae it looks a bit better. Some of the plants have completely given up their life and will to live,an there is algae literally everywhere (I don't even know how if the light was broken) even thought the filter was on, but honestly thank god that there were no fish in there or that wouldve been really sad. I'm doing a water change right now and maybe I'll upload photos when its all cleaned up and looks maybe a little bit more like a fish tank than a tank of leftover lettuce from the Cold War

Good job you relocated the fish :).

That picture might be a bit hard to see, so this is one from this morning after I cleaned up the massive clouds of algae covering everything.

Looks like a proper ecosystem now 😄. Hopefully, the plants will bounce for you back after some maintenance

That's minor. You should see them when they really go west! You can bring that tank around quickly.
