My 33 gallon tank is in it's cycle, nothing to do except which fish should I keep.
Here is the list that I wish to keep. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please tell me.

3 Peppered Cories
8 Rummy Noses
A pair of Rams
2 Platies
A pair of Honey Gouramis
6 Harlequins

Do you think I'll be over stocking or will any fish clash?
  :-( :*)

3 Peppered Cories - 4"x 3 = 12
8 Rummy Noses - 2"x 8 = 16"
A pair of Rams - 4"x 2 = 8"
2 Platies - 2"x2 = 4" (with live bearers, you want 1 male/2 females)
A pair of Honey Gouramis - 2"x 2 = 4"
6 Harlequins - 1.5"x 6 = 9"
======================================================
Total - Right now you are at about 53" inches of fish...

So yeah, big time over stocked.

you could go for a smaller cory to bring the inches down. But you might specifically want peppered cories...

I would say lose one of the schools at least, Personally I'd say the rummy noses because I think Harlequins are one of the most interesting fish! But that is just my opinion.

If I were you I would get just 1 honey gourami, 2 platies, 6 harlequins, 6 rummy noses, and 4-6 cories.

Also, I don't believe the cories get to 4", more like 3"....?

Actually, cories do best in groups of atleast 4-6. Also, you'll have trouble finding a female honey gourami, as females can be hard to come by.

I see there is some re-thinking to do.

1. Can I keep a single ram?
2. Can I keep a single Honey Gourami?
3. Aylana, why do you think Harlequins are more interesting?

Has anyone else have any opinions on what fish to keep for a shoal?

I've Looked on a few web sites at fish profiles, and going by their figures

Rams grow to 2-2.5"
Cories grow to 3"
Harlequins are nearly 2"

How can you get a true size?  -_-

cories need to be in groups of 4+ really
and i would go for a small shoal of a small fish of your choice
i wouldnt chosse the gouramis or the rams.

I've made my list. How about is:

4 Peppered Cories (I love them)
6 Harlequin (good for a shoal)
A pair Dwarf Gouramis (for my girlfriend)
A pair of Rams (for me, I love them to)

Hopefully that should be more like it. ????

In my experience, Dwarf Gouramis and Ram don't mix well.

I'd stick with the Honeys instead of the Dwarfs, or forget the Gouramis altogther.

5 Cories
2 Rams
6 Harlequins

Maybe that would be right about the rams not mixing with the gouramis. As for me, I have a trio of dwarf honeys and 1 male dwarf gourami (not in the same tank). They all have great personalities, so I would go without something else before I'd give them up. That's just me though.

We both would like the Rams, Sorry Gourami lovers.
Could I keep 1 male and 2 females together?
