Windows Vista

I have no problems with XP. I don't need my computer to do anything above and beyond word processing, some multi-media, email, and internet. The reason I hated Vista was because of the compatibility problems, I was going to have to get a new router and printer and didn't want to throw that money away. I hate MACs with a passion and think they are junk computers. I have never tried Linux, but have heard of several people loving it.

it may be worth a try of Linux, you can dual boot from XP, though you need to put Linux on first, or any second operating system oddly. and i seem to remember that there was a version that would run from windows itself, allowing people to try the system without having to do a full install, quite how it does that i do not know. it will of course be an alien environment at first, just be thankful that the need for "incantations" has been reduced, or even removed by now. i'm with you on Mac's, and they would be dead by now if we, the Windows user, were not propping the company up, to avoid anti trust law suites for Microsoft in the US. you got the Vista problem spot on :good: . I am far from happy with XP, but in mho it is vastly more useful and stable than Vista.

XP is certainly better than Vista. Maybe I will give that Linux a try, I will have to read up on it.
