Will This Tank Be Okay For 1 Betta?

that be good for 1 betta, or if you trying to breed, then 2 betta

good luck with raising your betta, and remember betta lives in tap water and remember before putting betta in, use tap water conditioner =]

Probably not for breeding. You can pick up a bigger tank with a light (possibly with filter) for less than £30 (I appreciate you might have a budget), and possibly even cheaper on ebay. You will also need a heater and a filter, which will take up quite a bit of room in a tank that size. A larger tank will also be more stable.

id say that'd be just fine. i have a betta in a similar tank (aprox. 3 gal, maybe like 3.5) and there is plenty of room for a 25 wtt heater and a sponge filter...also some rocks and plants. my boy is very sassy and happy in there. many people will say minimum 5 gal. but as long as you do 30% waterchanges twice a week, (more until your filter is cycled), you will be fine and your fish will have plenty of room!
have fun with the fish!!
cheers

Its not that im on a budget.... well i am (£20 every saturday). But its more of a fact that

a) Mum wont let me have another ''tank'' (this isnt a tank, its a vivarium ;) ) and
b) I am running out of space!

Im not going to breed in it

Couple more questions.

What watt heater will i need and could anyone reccomend a filter?

Wow, I wouldn't mind £20 a week of the fam. Keep saving for a few weeks and you could pick up a decent all included tank.

I actually used one of these for a month with a small heater and Elite Mini filter in, and the betta was ok. However, I think if it's possible, a bigger tank is better - Kai is soooooo much happier in his 30litre where he can zoom around, and he could have some shrimpy friends.

You've got to be kidding me.

No.

Its from work (Ironicaly, i work in a fish and chip shop)

I will save up, i might get one of these: http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-is...roduct-is-17293 (They do different coloured ones at PAH.. id obviously replace the gravel and that) Its only an extra 6 litres.. but its 6 litres more!

instead of buyng a kit, why dont you just buy a bog standard 18*10*10 for £20 from PAH and add your own equipment, that you know is reliable.

I wouldnt mind doing that, as it would give me alot more space, but i have a few problems..

a) Them bog standard tanks dont come with a lid... at least the ones at my PAH dont.
b) I would then have to fork out for a new filter and new heater, wheras with a kit id only have to get a heater.

So im in a bit of a pickle :(

You can pick up some nice filters and heaters on a certain auction site for really cheap - I got one of my fluval ones like less than half price, and it was unused.

Cheap heaters too - one of the ones I have cost me a tenner.

My main tank, was I think, about £35: 5 gallons, built in hood filter and light. The heater was £7. I picked it up from one of my local pet shops, Ask them instore if they have any deals going on.

Depends on personal temperment of the betta mine never jumps excpept over the filter sponge to attack the guppy/endler fry hiding behind it i started off with 20 now I have 6 lol
