After some advice and guidance please

Others say this will work but I trust your advice and guidance :good:

I have a Hagen Fluval 240 litre tank with a Fluval 306 external filter, I do weekly water changes of about 30% every week and use evoloution aqua pure aquarium balls every water change.

My current stock is 6 bolivian Rams, 4 amano shrimp, 11 Zebra Danio, 6 Mollies and 7 albino cory.

I love tiger barbs and redtail black sharks but wasn,t sure of their compatibility and can't get a definitve answer from research.

I want to add 8 Tiger Barb and 1 Red tail black shark - will this work? I realise this will put me at maximum stock and the shrimp might become lunch for the shark but the rams seem to be interested in the shrimp anyway so they could be history!

any thoughts or experiances? Am i being too ambitious?

Thankyou in anticipation

it sounds like a recipe for constant fights to me but I'm no expert on either type of fish. I do know both tiger barbs and red tailed sharks are teritorial and can be aggressive. It's not a mixture I'd consider myself but as I said, I'm no expert on either fish

having a decent sized group of tiger barbs will keep them busy among their species otherwise they can be a bit nippy and a bit of a pain...

rts - its really hit and miss with these guys they are mainly a bottom half dweller and with corys and bolivian rams in that area also it could get a bit cramped and the shark may not like that. some are quite easy going and some not so it simpossible to say really. they will get to a good size though eventualy so be prepared for it.

I have a rainbow shark which is almost identical to the red tailed except all the fins are red, not just the tail. They are also reputed to be less aggressive than the red taileds. I have mine in a community tank with things like veil-tailed angelfish and he's no bother. Probs about 4 inches long but a big softy. He doesn't really have any low-level competition though. Could be different with other bottom-dwellers.
