i have a 48 glass tank and i am planning to stock this?

2 ropefish(reed fish)

1 redtail black shark

1 african brown knife

1 catfish (suggestions)

and 1 school of fish (Suggestions)(thinking silver dollars)

2 other oddballs

your tank would be way too small for all that. silver dollars would be a good schooling fish but like i said.....you need more space. ropefish get pretty long and youll need quite a few silver dollars. but may i suggest a pictus catfish?

wutabout if i had no silver dollars and got giant danios then would it be ok

hmmm.......if the brown knife fish stayed small enough then it might work, watch him to make suer he wont eat them. but ropefish can get pretty big so ive heard, but idk. besides that everything else seems good

actually....i wouldnt get the ropefish, they get to big for a 48 gallon tank. my i suggest a bichir? seneh\gals stay small but idk if he'll get to big to eat the danios

the knife would post the most threat here, followed by your ropes. make sure the fish you introduce are big enough not to be eaten.

If I was you, I'd drop the African knife fish, most species get to be 10", the reedfish are going to get too long for that tank, so I'd drop them aswell... For the Catfish, I suggest either A pictus catfish, or African Clown catfish. Also, as already said, the silver dollars will get too large, I'd say don't even get a school of anything because you also mention you want two other oddballs. What species for the other 2 oddballs are you thinking?

yeah the tank is uhh 36 inches long and 18 inches wide and 18 inches tall so the knife would work if it only grew 10 inches if the rule is 3 times the fishes length and 1.5 the width. the ropefish i heard only grow to around 12 inches and will fit in a 30 gallon. also the oddball would b a senegal bichor and an african butterfly but i havn't decided. and would a school of congos work. then it would b an african bio type rite?

so the fish would be

african knife fish
senegal bichor
african butterfly
2 ropefish

possibly congos

all rules are not true concerning fish and susceptable to change. For example, Inch per gallon and length are not true, they depend on fish.

So I'd say.... with your new post... that....

2-5 African butterflys. Either a breeding pair or comunitty with your given spacing, but you'll need plants that come to The top or something that can float like brazillian pennywort) you'll wanna have a tight lid with these and the senegals! go 2 male and 3 female!

1x Senegal Bichir A personal favorite.

7x congo Tetra A nice large shoaler that should get too large for a senegal to swallow

1x African Brown Knife fish you'll want either tubes or plants to make territories for him and the bichir to hang out in.

This would seem to be a lot better! and then get a synodontis! The guy in my sig is a type of Synodontis! They're a catfish branch that are very popular! But make sure to research and ask us about the one you plan to get!
