will they hurt him?

I dont think so. They look all right and pretty smooth to me. Make sure there are no sharp edges or corners he can get caught on though

Not sure, have you done the pantyhose test on them?

no. whats that?
You take some pantyhose and run them across the plastic plants, if it snags the pantyhose then it will snag their fins. :)

Doesn't that depend on the denier? Like if they are thick then they might not snag but could still snag the betta

I've a few plastic ones in my tank There smooth and rubbery and have had no problems! IT's the cheap nasty ones with jagged cut thin edges or that come to a sharp point on the end!! Try the tights idea tho if ur really unsure and if u notice any rips in ur bettas fins it be best to remove them! But from what I can see they do look OK!! The 3rd one tho I'd be weary!!

If you just run your hands over the plants (I know I'm a woman and I don't have any pantyhose! lol) Use your common sense, if they feel hard, rough on the edges, any sharp areas....don't use them.....honestly better off with silk plants then plastic....

I would be concerned with the plant in picture 3 to be honest.  I personally prefer to use live plants but silk plants are a close second choice of mine.

Not sure what denier is? I could see though how it might be tricky depending on how thick they are :/ Just keep an eye out I suppose.
Agreed that pic 3 looks concerning.

Denier is just a measurement of the thickness of the material, not sure if you have that in the states.
