haha thanks everybody. i think i'm going to try the seven and see how it goes. as for evens and odds....i don't know. i was just following the advice i was given

Even numbers can gang up just as easily as odd numbers. depends on the fish. (if you had six, 4 could pick on 2) Just get or more and watch them close. Give them lots of plants, caves, etc to feel secure.
