Will my fish survive??

Your tank will cycle regardless of size, keep an eye on those levels. Finding a new home for the pleco is a good idea, they are much easier for the fish stores to sell when they are small so they are much more likely to accept them at that size. Your other fish will be ok in the 2 gallon for a month or so, but get a bigger tank ASAP. If i had it all to do over again i'd have found a way to squeeze a 55 into my apartment instead of the 20 gallon i have now. :)

For the most cost effective tank buying, check the classifieds. You can often find huge tanks on the cheap with almost everything you need included, often even the stand. Just make sure you test them for leaks before you set up.

Hi Luxum,

Thanks for the advice! I was completely unaware before reading this forum that fish stores would trade fish, take fish back, give credit for fish, etc. I have posted an ad in the for sale section here, offering him for free if someone will pick him up. If no one takes me up on that, I will take him to the fish stores around here.

I am also going to pick up a Bargain Trader and check the classifieds. That is a really great idea!!

And, completely unrelated to fish: I now live in south Florida, but grew up in Zephyrhills and went to USF for my undergrad degree. Nice to see another Floridian!

Hey, i'm a USF grad too! :D I grew up on the east coast in the Melbourne area but moved here for school and never left. Where are you at in south Florida?

Cool! :D

When were you at USF? I was there 93-97. I moved to the Ft. Lauderdale area to get my doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in '97, and never ended up leaving here. I lived in Davie for about 3 years and now I live out in west Broward, near Pembroke Pines...but I work down in south Dade, at the University of Miami.

My mom still lives in Zephyrhills, so I get up that way fairly often. Can't believe how things at USF have changed since I left!! There used to be no football when I was there!

I was there the same years, weird. At first i was a theatre design major, then switched to studio art, hence the extra year. Never got to get a graduate degree unfortunately. Don't get me started about the evils of the football team! :p

I had to stay the exra year because I changed by major too....from chemistry to psychology if you can believe that!!

Haha well the first semester i was a biology major, it was the chemistry department and all the chem requirements that made me say no thanks to that! So yes, i beleive it!
