What to do, What to do?
Im new and ive made some very bad stocking choices! (being told they were fine by my LFS) :X
In my newly running big tank ive two massive Angel fish and a Fighter!
They've seemed fine but i have seen an Angel nip the fighter!
These are my two fav types of fish. I dont want to see one killed! But what do i do? Would a Fighter be able to live in a "goldfish bowl"? It needs a heater and filter surely? I need a quick "move the Fighter to saftey" plan as the angels are like three times its size . . . I dont think it stands a chance!
Ideas?

Yeh, he should be fine, or you could just get a bucket as a temp home and stick a heater in there, walla new and improved betta home

You techincally dont need a filter and heater
only heater if you live in a colder climate

i had a betta that lived to be 6 years old in a really cold climate without
a heater, so, you dont NEED one

Really you do need a heater they are tropical fish likely higher temps. A filter you can do with out but you have to be very good at keeping up with the water changes. I think you are in the UK, you can get a 2.5 gallon tank for about £8/£10 and a small heater for about £10/£15 a small filter is again about £10. Glad you havent kept him in there. Bettas are better on their own or with a few species such as ottos

Despite what others may say, he would do fine in a bowl. In the wild they live in mud puddles the size of horse shoes. Granted with fish, bigger is better though. My one Betta lived 5-6 years in a 1 gallon betta bowl, longer than those who lived in my 20 gallon. If nothing else you could keep him in there until you find a bigger aquarium. I go by the 1 inch per gallon rule. With tanks usually the bigger the tank the more stable you can keep the water perimeters.

No they live in rice paddies, occasionally they get stuck in puddles but not out of choice

HE IS STILL IN THERE!
I wanna do something about it tomorrow, Ive got two tanks and hes un suitable in both. I havent really got the cash to buy a third setup just yet. Thats why i asked if he'd survive in a bowl or something with nothing else till i can aford something solid! Its a big tank and theres only six fish in there so id imagine he'll come to no harm tonight! I just dont wanna leave him on death row any longer then i can! :)

Just looking at your sig, whats currently in your 10 gal? Thats an appropriate size for a betta if there isn't anything too aggressive or edible in there. Though I guess you've probably thought of that.

Bettas are hardy fish. You can put him in a bucket or a bowl or anything for now as long as he can't jump out. And keep him in a warm part of the house.

He should be fine in a bowl temporarily until you can find him a suitable place to be.
Or as others have suggested, you could go and and get yourself a brand new bucket to put him in.
Just make sure the water doesn't get too cold for him and that he has no way of jumping out and all should be fine.

just get him out for time being. I had one that lived in a coffee glass jug for 2 weeks whilst I got him somewhere else. It had a lid on and I put it in warmest place in house....

as a temporary measure a bowl is fine, you need to do daily water changes if it's not filtered and make sure the ambient temp of it is kept reasonably high all the time, this may mean keeping the room it's in very warm if you can't get a heater.

I live in england . . . Its freezing!
Hes still in there, its a big tank, i havent seen any aggression since but i still intend to do something about it!
My other tanks no good. Theres a smaller angel fish in there and a bala, Its got afew Neons and Tetras in there too!
