there is a plant growing in the yard. its like a clover looking thing and it looks really neat. if i got a bunch of it by the roots would it grow in the tank? i have sand in my tank so that would kind of be like dirt.

well im gonna try anyways. what could it hurt. and if it works it will look cool, if it doesnt i have to pick out a dead plant. looks pretty cool in there right now tho.

Good for you for trying it out. I might do the same, albeit have the substrate, and plant, above the water level. :)

Well when some plants die and rot it can cause high amounts of ammonia, also leach out poisions. I am just throwing in a word of caution here for all of the people that read this. But I hope it works for you.

well its been a few hours and its looking just fine.

Yeah I agree. Keep an eye on your parameters over the next few days. If they were meant to grow in water than I'm sure you'd be picking them out of a pond instead of your soil.
