im intrested in adding discus to my 125 gallon fish tank with one silver arowana which is only 6in now with 5 small angels and 2 clown loachs. do u think that discus with attack or be attack by any of these fish?

thanks for the help

Can't say that I know anything about arrowanas but in a 125 gallon tank with 5 angels, I would have to assume that they would get along fine, as long as the tank is heavly planted. as far as I know with discus they need ALOT of attention paid to water quality. I would almost compair their needs as far as water quaility goes to a marine fish.

As far as the arrowanna is concerened I havnt a clue. But having angels and discus together is totally up in the air. Half of people say they shouldnt be together due to diseases angels carry that can kill discus. The other half says theres no problems with it whatsoever. In know, I know this was absolutley no help at all.

Arros grow huge and can be aggro. They might be ok but if i had to make a generalization I wouldn't do it. Discus are pretty fragile as fish and espcially as far as water parms and stress go. jmo.

I have two Angels and two Discus they live great together, never fight and no desieses (touch wood). Although I don't know much about the arros, but the rest should be fine. I have two pimpictus cats, 2 guppies, ghostknife fish, and leopard Plec, and everything is fine. So I say go for it. As long as you keep your water in good shape, and feed regular (with beefheart, my recommendation) you should be fine. How many discus are you thinking of? They should be in groups of 3 - 4 so yes I need to get more to, but there a bit pricey! :/

my fish book said normal arrowa in the wild gors so metre and hunts birds bats and anything on the rtees in fit into its mouth..... sacry!!!
