I live in the UK and went down south for a long weekend, me and my dad was poking around a harbour at low tide when i found several fish skulls. They were roughly the same size which was around 12cm long at a guess, its a very slim and slender build with a very long snout and loads of needle like teeth. Plus there's one other wierd thing, their blue ????
I've got photo's of them which i'll try to upload tonight, i reckon its just some resturante that disgards the heads of exotic fish, any ideas?

ooh in Portugal you get fish with blue bones.....I'll have to ask my boyfriend what they are called...they are as far as I remember slender fish a bit like eels (but fish).

ooooh sounds pretty fun :)
id like to see some pics!

im thinking some type of garfish or something, but im not sure about Uk native fish im afraid, maybe a tuskfish?
again not sure if they are even native to this country

other possibility is a pike?

pics will help :)

Garfish rang a bell so i had a quick google and came up with this, its nearly exactly the same :D

Apprantly Sea Garfish are found in the UK but still cant find out why its blue :/

as far as i have read and heard its to do with teh chromosomes for blue bones being comibined over years with the food they eat etc.
im not very good with science but thats what i read when doing a quick search...

i might be completely wrong though lol

Didnt want to turn into one of those annoying "I'll get pics but later" threads which never do so here's the pics :)
