Why Is My Big Angelfish Twitching?

Hello tooooooooooo all fishhloveerrrs...

Well yesterday i've noticed that my big angelfish (scalare) was staying in the corner of the tank and jolting every 2 seconds. I've also noticed that it always stays near the fish that is really sick....




Why is this??

Unfortunately, it is difficult to say what is causing this. What are the water params, specifically ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? Do you seen any spots on it, or discolorations or "cloudiness" on the fish? Sometimes parasitic infections can cause this; or even bacterial of it is causing it to feel unwell.

could it be that its the sick fish thats causing the issue? has this not been removed from the tank to a QT tank?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.


Darting can be caused by bad water quality, toxins, stray voltage, parasites, over dose of meds, ph shock.

First thing to look at is your water stats.
