when its time for me to get up in the am, my corys start jumping and the others all start to follow suit. once I turn the light on/get out of bed, ll the fish fight for the position at the corner nearest the bed, as they know I will get up and give them the brekkie, no matter what time of day.

they know when they are going to be fed, so whats the "2 second" memory crap about?

Yeah, absolute nonsense that 2-second memory rubbish. My fishies can certainly remember from one day to the next that I am the Food Goddess

I agree fish do know when it feeding time.
Some fish were even taught to turn this machine thing on to get there food. lol.
They do have a memory for food anyway.

Interesting read.

It's cuz sum ppl think that fish are dumb creatures which obviously is utterly dumb. My fish remember loads of stuff, and they are smart.

when my dwarf cichlids are defending their eggs and chasing other fish all around the tank when they come too close, they certainly know the shortest route back to their eggs where ever in the tank they are when they decide the fish they are chasing have been "reminded" that that part of the tank is out of bounds, and my tank is five feet long and two feet high and wide

Yes smart they are I truly beleive so...but why on earth do they keep trying to eat each others poo??? LOL Even a poo trail still hanging on the platy's bum (sorry for the image peeps) will get chased by some hungry Neon's
