Why I Love The Nature Aquarium

its as near to a slice of nature you are going to get in your own home. Everything all works together, fish, bacteria, shrimp, plants. Sure you feed it but it is still balanced!

I feel that it is a slice of nature...

just a different opinion. Have a look at my signature for a beautiful quote from amano!!!

I suppose that, if you were to try to recreate a submerged forest type environment then there could be more variety of plants.

Is this not principle behind a nature aquarium? To create underwater something that you see outside the aquarium in the natural world?

Whenever anyone mentions trying to create a landscape in an aquarium I have visions of plastic castles and little brick arch bridges.

But then this would not be a nature aquarium.

One suggestion. Go to the Pilkington glass factory and tell them glass is just silica. That's like telling a fishkeeper that your water quality is good coz the water is clear!

I shall do, Ill let you know what they say.

Sam

Yes, that's the principle. Flooded forests are just one type of environment but are not permanent aquatic habitats. It's the permanently submerged waterscapes I find most appealing.

I was being sarcey about the castles!

Good luck at the factory. Wear thick skin!

Interesting interpretation of the natural aquarium gf.
A Nature Aquarium and a natural aquarium are two different things entirely. I was not attempting to interpret a natural aquarium or even a Nature Aquarium - just sharing my enthusiasm for the whole attention to aesthetics and design of the actual hardware, rather than analysing the aquascape as you have done.

Ah, I see.

Subtle differences, but important ones I suppose. You're right on the equipment design. Nice stuff. Way overpriced though. Chemistry equipment is often blown glass and is often far more complex than the stuff ADA do. It's a fraction of the cost too.

gf im with you and your passion.

Its all about creating a piece of art, but to create the art work you need the best paint brushes possible( The ADA equipment).

The picture you have posted is a true representation of the "The Nature Aquarium" and is what gets me excited about having an aquarium, its what i want in my home.

Its a shame that it seems to be taking a long time for the UK to get the products and hard wear to the same standard as ADA's.
There are places here that sell selective ADA products, but IMO the most important piece of equipment that is true ADA is the tank, you just cant get tanks like that, seamless and ultra clear.
If we could get glass tanks like ADA's then we would be half way there.

If i feel im having a bad day with my hobby i just pick "The Nature Aquarium" books and im all there, reminded of what it is im trying to achieve, a piece of art!

I want to see more glass wear, the inlet/outlet pipes for all tank sizes, i don't want to see ugly plastic green or blue pipes, give me glass any day of the week its all about being discrete.

"imitating nature in order to surpass it"

I love that quote.
Must admit the ADA equipment is gorgeous but ££££££££££££ :hyper: (I'd be having a closer look at nature if the wife caught me spending that kind off dosh on little bits of glass)

My soon to be wife is great, she says "its your money, if thats what you want, you get it" arrr i do love her.
She apriciates the ADA aquarium so thats good!

Aqua Essentials:

Its good to see vendors such as yourselves become members of TFF :) I am sure we can mutually benefit from this exchange of knowledge.

GF:

Thats a great image. Where did you get the image from?

I would agree, Richard is in the business to make money but he's not pushy about it and is there to help if possible. I for one choose him over other people for this very reason. You just dont get this type of service any more (well clearly you do but you know what I mean!)
