Why Do People Not Like Snails.

I have to say, I'm still on the fence with snails. While my pink ramshorns do a lovely job on keeping my plants algae free without eating them (must be the blues eating the java nurglespuss, mine don't touch it!), they breed and poop far too much and I can barely keep up! They're out of control and I feel guilty every time I do a water change and see them fall down the sink. I try to save them but there's just so many :(

Put a sieve or something where you pour the water that way you can save the snails quickly and easily.

I have a nerite snail, apple snails and rabbit snails...oh and MTS (although I don't particularly like these - they do a brilliant job of keeping my tank algae free :))

Or send them to me for my puffers :hey:

This is why I hate them......

Haha that looks about right! I just moved some of the snails out of my main tank and found that they've been laying eggs on each others shells

I have 4 snails so far, and looking to get more for my betta tanks. I have 1 black/tan striped mystery snail, a blue mystery snail and 2 Inca snails. They are really active too, surpringly.

I have 15 black Japanese trapdoor snails, they're great, as they are live bearers and not hermaphroditic. So the females only pop out one little fully formed snail at a time. I started with 5 and now many months later only have the 15. They are constantly scouring the gravel and glass for algae and bits of fallen food. Now with the addition of my 5 Thai micro crabs, I'm hoping to not have much in the way of waste build up.

i think there ace i just bought 3 assassins which took care of my pest snails. but i want some more but ones that will eat my alge. but im advised that i cant now. cause they will just get eaten

I just got a zebra nerite, & have to say it makes a nice addition to one of my Betta tanks.
It's always going up & down the glass or grazing on the wood.
It does poo a lot though

I hated the plagues of ramshorn snails that kept occurring in my tanks - no its not too much food its all the live plants and natural timber that keeps them going even in the old bath tub down the back that has no food added just plants and leaves from trees the snails breed out of control, but now I am happy to see a good infestation in my tanks becuase it means I can transfer my Pakastani loaches to that tank and watch the plague get decimated while the loaches just keep growing. Just annoyed that they can't do so a brillient job on the MTS as well  .
